Your brand isn't just your logo. It's being recognisable wherever someone finds you: your website, Facebook, Instagram, your van, your invoices. When everything looks and sounds the same, people remember you and trust you. When every platform looks different, you seem like several small businesses rather than one solid one.
The fix is to make a few decisions once, write them down, and stick to them.
1. Pick 2–3 brand colours
- One main colour that people will associate with you
- One accent colour for buttons and things you want noticed
- A neutral (an off-white, grey or near-black) for backgrounds and text
Write down the exact colour codes (like #FF6A3D), so your website, posts and printing all match.
2. Pick 1–2 fonts
One font for headings and one for everything else is plenty. Free Google Fonts work well on websites and in tools like Canva. Avoid novelty fonts that are hard to read on a phone.
3. Use one profile picture and one bio
- Use the same logo or photo as your profile picture on every platform, so people know they've found the right account.
- Write one short bio: what you do, who for, and where. Use it everywhere, changing only the length.
- Keep your business name, phone number, email and website the same on every platform. Google notices mismatches too.
Put it on one page
Save your colours, fonts, logo files and bio in a one-page brand guide. Then anyone who helps you, from a printer to a new team member, can get it right first time.
Quick win
Open all your social profiles side by side. If the pictures, names or bios don't match, spend ten minutes making them the same.
