The short version: I only collect what you send me, I use it to reply, and I never sell it.

Who I am

Clarkworks Studio is a trading name of Chris Clark, a sole trader based in Cornwall, UK. For this website I'm the "data controller", which means I decide how your information is used. You can contact me about anything on this page at clarkworks.studio@gmail.com.

What I collect

  • Enquiry form: your name, your email address and anything you choose to tell me, such as your business, website, budget and project details.
  • Emails: anything you send me directly.
  • Site analytics: anonymous, cookie-free visit statistics such as page views and the country of the visitor. These can't identify you.

How I use it

I use your details to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and, if we work together, deliver the project and send invoices. The lawful bases are your consent (the enquiry form) and taking steps to enter into a contract with you. I won't add you to a mailing list or send marketing without asking first.

Who else handles it

A small number of trusted services help run this site and the business:

  • Website hosting and form handling (Netlify)
  • Email (Google Workspace / Gmail)
  • Accounting and invoicing records, kept for tax purposes

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that don't go ahead are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, because HMRC requires it.

Cookies

This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, so there's no cookie banner. The analytics used are cookie-free.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you, or object to how it's used. Email me and I'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
